Israel, Egypt, Jordan, 2019



In 2019, I took a 2 week trip to Egypt, Israel and Jordan. I took a tour in Egypt, because I did not feel comfortable travelling around by myself. They met me at the airport, and drove me to my hotel in Cairo. The next day, they picked me up in a car and gave me a tour of Cairo, the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. I wanted to do the Light and Sound show at the Pyramids, so they dropped me off at the hotel, then picked me up later that night to go see that show. The next day, they dropped me off at the airport, where I flew to Luxor. I was picked up at Luxor, and given a tour of the the Valley of the Kings and dropped off at the hotel. The next day, I was given a tour of Luxor, then dropped back at the airport, where I flew back to Cairo. I was again picked up and taken to my hotel. The next day, I was given another tour of Cairo. The last day, I was dropped off at the airport, where I flew to Tel Aviv.

When I arrived in Israel, I had planned to take the bus from the airport to Tel Aviv, but the Sabbath had started, and buses were not running, so I had to take a taxi. The next day, I did some sightseeing in Tel Aviv by myself. The next day, I had booked a tour on Viator, to see Caeserea, Rosh Hanikra and Acre. The tour picked me up at the hotel and dropped me off a couple of blocks away. The next day, I had booked another tour on Viator, to see Nazareth, Galilee and Tiberias. The next day, I checked out of the hotel, and took the bus to Jerusalem. I did some sightseeing in Jerusalem by myself. The next day, I had booked a tour on Viator, to see Bethlehem and Jericho. The next day, I had booked a tour with Abraham Tours, to see Masada, Ein Gedi and Dead Sea. The tour started at the Abraham Hostel in Jerusalem. The next two days, I had booked an overnight tour with Abraham Tours, to go to Petra. We drove to Petra, with a stop in Jerash along the way. We stayed in a Bedouin Camp in Petra. The camp had tents with shared bathrooms, and electricity during the day. At night, we had candles, because the electricity was turned off. The next day, we had a full day in Petra, then spent a second night at the Bedouin Camp. The next day, we drove to Wadi Rum, then continued on back to Jerusalem. The next day, I toured Jerusalem by myself. The next day, I went back to the airport, and flew back home.
