Camping and Hiking in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Forest
Check out these photos taken while camping in Lodgepole campground in Sequoia National Park. I love hiking in Sequoia National Forest and Kings Canyon National Park.
My favourite is the Lakes Trail that starts from Wolverton and is 12.4 miles round-trip, with an elevation gain of 2810 ft. The trail first goes to Heather Lake which is at 9200 ft. It then goes to Astor and Emerald Lakes, which are also at 9200 ft, and finally to Pear Lake which is at 9510 ft. There are two trails that go up, the Switchback Trail which is shorter and steeper, and the Watchtower Trail which has some really spectacular views. The Watchtower Trail goes along the side of a cliff and is not recommended for people afraid of heights.
Another of my favourite trails is the Twin Lakes Trail, which is 13.6 miles round-trip and goes from 6700 ft to 9500 ft.
The Tokopah Falls Trail is pretty easy. It takes you to the base of Tokapah Falls, and is about 3.5 miles round-trip.
