Colorado National Monument - 2014
During the last week of August, 2014, I took a road trip to Salt Lake City, Utah, Yellowstone National Park, Colorado National Monument and Arches National Park. After visiting Yellowstone, I drove to Grand Junction, Colorado. The first part of Wyoming was beautiful, with deep valleys and wooded forests. After some time, that gave way to open pastures. I got to Grand Junction late evening. The next day, I visited Colorado National Monument. I did not have a lot of time, because I planned on going to Arches in the afternoon, and then spending the night in St George, Utah. This park has two entrances, with a 23 mile scenic rim drive between. There are several places to pull over and enjoy the scenery. This park has dramatic colorful cliffs. I saw long horned sheep along the way. This is a nice park, but I would not go there unless you are in that area, or it is just a slight detour to get there. In my opinion, it is not worth going there just for this one park alone
